Rum-balls (romkugler)

INGREDIENTS

200 g of dates (without pits)

100 ml water

250 ml of oatmeal

1 tbsp of cocoa (the bitter kind)

1 tbsp of cocoa (the sweet, kids-friendly kind)

1 tbsp rum essence

100g shredded coconut (as fine grained as possible for best results)



  1. Blend dates and water in a blender or food processor. Alternatively chop very very finely and mix with water after.

  2. In a bowl, mix in the cocoa, rum essence and oatmeal into the dates (no need for a hand mixer, just mix it with a spoon).

  3. Roll the mix into balls in your hands and roll in coconut (or additional cocoa, or crushed pistachios or whatever you want actually) for a kid-hand-friendly coating.

  4. Refrigerate for 15-20 min before serving. Store in an airtight container.
